STUDY HALL ASSISTANT (5.5 hours)
Job Objectives: Supervises students during study periods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Adheres to all health mandated requirements.
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Takes attendance.
- Enforces study hall rules.
- Upholds the student conduct code.
- Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.
- Keeps track of the location of each student assigned to the study hall.
- Upholds PTS board policies and follows administrative procedures.
- Communicates expectations and displays an interest in student progress.
- Keeps open communication with the principal, informs about persistent behavior problems.
- Promotes the proper use and care of school property. Controls student access to lockers, toilet rooms, etc.
- Validates student requests to go to the library, guidance office, meet with teachers, etc.
- Maintains a positive and encouraging learning environment. Helps students with questions.
- Takes the necessary precautions to ensure student safety. Does not leave students unsupervised.
- Accepts responsibility for work-related decisions and conduct.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.

Environment & Physical Demands:
- Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens and communicable diseases.
- Potential for interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals
