SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating and cooling equipment including chillers and cooling condenser in use in all buildings in the school district. 

 

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  1.  Performs scheduling and adjustments to controllers to regulate temperature via the energy management computer programs.
  2. Maintenance of heating VIESSMANN Boilers and other heating systems. 
  3. Maintenance of McQuay screw chillers and condensing units. 
  4. Maintain all service and repair records on all heating and cooling units assigned. 
  5. Establish and coordinate filter changes in units assigned. 
  6. Inspect, adjust and maintain pneumatic controls on units assigned. 
  7. Maintain all pneumatic line drying equipment. 
  8. Assist with the repair of circulating pumps. 
  9. Assist with the repair of all air handling equipment. 
  10. Establish and maintain service schedules for building Air Handling Equipment. 
  11. Maintain gas train and gas burner efficiency and operation in all boilers. 
  12. Maintain and record Freon usage and recovery. 
  13. Responsible for all equipment and keys assigned. 
  14. Assist others within maintenance department as needed. 
  15. Other duties that may be assigned by director or supervisor.

 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Successful applicants must be EPA certified as required by 40 CFR 82 SUBPART F, universal. 
  3. Applicants must have an operating knowledge of the Precision Control Systems energy management system. Supply copy of certifications with application. 
  4. Minimum 5 year’s experience in HVAC trades
  5. Valid Indiana driver’s license
  6. Working knowledge of operation and repair of boilers

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as recommended or stipulated by OSHA and as specified in the Material Safety Data Sheets for the materials being used.
